Beanmonger
Ethiopia
Medium Roast
Slowly becoming one of my favorite espresso blends right now. The black and white cookie note with a bit of citrus is awesome and more of a medium espresso roast which is refreshing.
Superlost
Colombia
Light Roast
Definitely tasting the blueberry, solid for pourover but was a bit acidic for my morning cup
Archetype
Kenya
Dark Roast
Blood orange and caramel notes strong, great smooth cup for pourover
Lost Sock
Mexico
Excellent for pour overs, great entry for me to get more interested in Mexican coffees.
Small Planes
Brazil
Decent espresso blend, very chocolately and acidic, would be great for affogato
Tasty Brazil roast with caramel stealing the show. Great crema on espresso shots pulled with this.
Roseline
Wow. Was truly impressed by this one having Strawberry be the strongest note but not being overpowering. Highly recommend having this as a pour over. Still have not had anything like this coffee, really unique. Excited to try more Roseline!
Kingship
Costa Rica
Apricot is carrying this, great option for cortado or other milk drinks. Got it from Kingship in Williamsburg, VA. Great coffee shop!
Ceremony
Americas
Super interesting take on an “espresso” blend. I love the creamsicle notes and found the medium roast to work really well.
Nagadi
Not sure I tasted too many distinct notes but no major complaints
Helm
Awesome, well rounded roast. I really liked the blackberry notes especially and excited to try more from Helm!
Afterglow
Guatemala
Had this as espresso but would probably go hard on a pour over
Yirgacheffe region, nuff said. Nagadi is such a great spot, if you’re in the DMV area stop by on Saturday morning (the only time they are open).
Ethiopia, Colombia
LOVED this one, so bright with great fruity notes. Wouldn’t have expected one of my favorites to be a blend. Afterglow continues to impress me!
Latin American Blend
Im just not crazy about generic espresso blends (too dark for me) but im sure this is right for regular use.
Very run of the mill solid option
Touchy Coffee
Easy drinking, versatile bean that can be used for espresso, pour over or whatever.
Alma Coffe
Good for one cup but a little much to have as a daily cup (watermelon overpowering)
Didn’t love this as much as the other one but a very solid option for espresso
Love Afterglow! Great light, juicy with notes of apricot & mango
This is what I remember Ceremony for. Shocker that it’s a fruity light roast that I’m excited about. Definitely check out their site and do the color experience.
Wasn’t too impressed with this one, Ceremony is usually solid though.
Mudhouse
Central/South America Blend
I have nothing bad to say about this other than it’s outshined by Trust & Believe. This is the safer middle of the road choice.
Probably by favorite coffee to this day. This has won awards for a reason. Tried this in a cortado in their Richmond store and fell in love. Perfect for anyone that wants some sweet acidity.
Onyx
Apricot forward ethiopian
Ethiopia, Colombia, Honduras
Great starter for anyone looking to get into coffee
Nicaragua
Great local roaster to DC! First time trying a Nicaraguan coffee. Very solid and loved the sweet and acidic notes.
Bolivia
I think this one was a bit overhyped with the “extra special” sticker here but solid as always
Tanzania
Loved this one, great for espresso drinks. Touchy coffee doesn’t really miss.
Long Neck Roasters
Picked this up at a local farmers market when in Williamsburg, VA. Please disregard my rating on the bag in the image. Usually don’t reach for a dark roast but this was solid. Gave me insane anxiety but was strong so buy at your own risk
Lavender was strong on this one, interesting take on an Ethiopian bean
Goshen
Ripe berries peeking through, classic Yirgacheffe Ethiopian taste.
Greater Goods
One of my favorites! Guess I’m a sucker for blueberry notes
A Toda Madre
Solid for cold brew, bright notes peeking through
